Arctic Milk is a traditional dairy with a modern twist located in the heart of Finland, a country well known for its first-rate dairy products. Our products are made with the finest family recipes and the purest locally produced ingredients. A combination that is simply irresistible to anyone who appreciates quality cheese!
Even though Arctic Milk was founded in 2010, the roots of the dairy were planted in the 1930s when the grandmother of Arctic Milk’s current CEO, Hilda, started making traditional Finnish squeaky cheese with the help of her sons. These fine-tuned traditional recipes are still in use today, to keep your tastebuds ecstatic.
Since 2017 Arctic Milk’s production facilities have been based in Forssa, located in Southern Finland. Our Ingredients are gathered from the nearby milk farms, to ensure that our products are always made from the freshest and cleanest possible milk! In 2022, cheese production moved to Porlammi.
Products
Our main product is the traditional Finnish Squeaky Cheese, along with all its variations. Besides this traditional delicacy, Arctic Milk also produces different types of cheddars and other hard cheeses. We also take great pride in our mouthwatering seasonal products for Christmas, Easter, and Midsummer.
What is the Finnish squeaky cheese?
If you have not tried this traditional treat, you really are missing out. The cheese is made from fresh milk curds, by baking, grilling or flambeeing it to create its characteristic brown marks. The cheese is most often called ’bread cheese’, since like a loaf of bread, it is baked in an oven.
The traditional Finnish squeaky cheese is often eaten as a tasty little snack on its own, or with a nice cup of coffee. It can also be used in salads to replace feta or other salad cheeses. If one wishes to enjoy the taste of the land of thousand lakes at its finest, we recommend combining some traditional squeaky cheese with a bit of cloudberry jam, or even better, with some fresh cloudberries.
